When nobody shows up… she does. Because It Matters. ❤️ There are people who help when asked. And then there are people who quietly step in before you even ask. Shamen @wandering_elly has been that person for me. Since becoming an FFC2024 Model Ambassador, she has poured so much of herself into Fashion for Cancer - taking videos, editing reels, posting content, helping keep our social media stories alive… often single-handedly, often behind the scenes, often without anyone knowing. And she does this while building @ellysatascrackers , caring for her health, managing family responsibilities, and carrying her own load. Yet when others don’t show up… she still does. There were times support was thin, things felt overwhelming, and I wondered how we would get things done. Somehow, Shamen would appear - mobile in hand, ideas flowing, ready to help. Quietly dependable. Steady. Giving. What touches me most is she never does it for attention. She does it because she believes in this cause and in the stories of our cancer warriors. People often see the face of Fashion for Cancer. They don’t always see the hearts holding it up. Shamen is one of those hearts. I want you to know how deeply I appreciate you - not just for the work you do, but for the way you show up with loyalty, compassion and love. When nobody shows up… you do. We visited Mykonos Souvlaki take-out in Hobart, Tasmania. Not because it has Michelin star status. But it’s Rong’s favourite. When he first visited Hobart, it was the same ritual. Souvlaki, every single day. No questions asked. On our last morning here, he woke up early, determined to have “just one more.” But the shop was closed. He was greatly disappointed. This moment stayed with me. When hubs and I visited Hobart again, we packed his favourite Mykonos souvlaki and carried it all the way back to Singapore. When someone you love finds joy in something so simple, you hold onto it. Now, coming back here brings back precious thoughts. The place is the same… but the moments are now memories.
