My review of Svetlana Satchkova’s outstanding new novel from Melville House, “The Undead” is up on my Reentry Shock site (GregBlakeMiller.org) … “‘The Undead’ provides an essential window into the surreal mix of delusional normalcy, illiberal degradation, and moral bewilderment that presided in Moscow in the decade between Vladimir Putin’s return to power in 2012 and Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 ….” (Read the full review at GregBlakeMiller.org.)

Season of promise, season of mystery. We go into the light, try to look closer, and stay tuned. Sometimes it’s not the answers that matter, anyway, but the willingness to ask. I’m not trying to be obscure, just riding the daylight as far as it will take me. Best I can come up with just now. The sky feels honest, the blossoms naive. The wind is picking up.

Marquee Moon. (Yes, old Luna really did look like this from my lucky vantage point a couple nights ago! One of the most magnificent harvest moons I’ve ever seen.)
