Introducing Gregory Tyndall. We are so excited to have him perform in Slant of the Earth.
Gregory was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. He was enrolled in Tap and Jaz dance classes at the age of 12. He started his formal dance training at the age of 14. Tyndall was accepted in to the Cobb County Centre for Performing Arts at Pebblebrook High School where his Instructor Denise Reeves encouraged him to broaden his horizons in classical, contemporary, and modern dance. He went on to train at different schools across the country including The Atlanta Ballet, The Kirov Academy in Washington D.C. The Rock School for Dance Education, Nashville Ballet, and The Cincinnati Ballet. In 2009 Gregory was accepted in the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Ballet Theatre where he spent the next four years performing various repertoire by choreographers such choreographers as George Balanchine, Dwight Rhoden, Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, and Joshua Bergasse. After graduating from Indiana University Tyndall joined the Saint Louis Ballet, under the direction of New York city Ballet legend Gen Horiuchi. During his tenure with the company he performed principal roles including Prince Desire in "The Sleeping Beauty,” Prince Charming in “Cinderella,” Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cavalier in “The Nutcracker,” and the lonesome cowboy in George Balanchine’s “Western Symphony.” At Saint Louis Ballet he worked with choreographers Amy Seiwart, Nilas Martins, Gen Horiuchi, Francis Patrelle, Kevin Jenkins, Michael Uthoff, Tom Gold, and Emery Lecrone. In 2018 he joined Newport Contemporary Ballet under the direction and invitation of founding Director Miki Ohlsen. During his tenure at Newport Contemporary Ballet Gregory was featured in many roles including The Cavalier in “ The Nutcracker,” “Light Rain,” Choreographed by Gerald Arpino, “Where We Left Off,” Choreographed by Nicolo Fonte, “Kindred Two Hearts,” Choreographed by Miki Ohlsen, and most recently as The Wanderer in Danielle Genest’s “The Firebird.”
