The 2025 Chicago Marathon… this meant so much to me. That life changing accident was two years ago and after all the surgeries and months of healing, I needed to celebrate my health. And I decided that training and running 26.2 miles was the perfect way to celebrate it 😂
The race itself was tough. I was seriously questioning if I would even finish at mile 8 when my legs started to cramp. The cramps never stopped throughout the entire race. It was a mixture of taking as much electrolytes as I could and those lifesaving biofreeze stations that made the pain tolerable.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to support!! I always got a burst of energy whenever I saw someone I knew cheering me on from the side 🥲 Especially @abimo10 !! She ran to convenience stores to get me more hydration and even changed out my shoes at mile 17. I could not have finished this without everyone’s support 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
