I had the privilege of spending several days at Pachico Ecotours in San Ignacio Lagoon in Baja Mexico. The late Pachico Mayoral, a local fisherman, pioneered whale experiences and education here in the 1970s. Decades later, his family carries on that legacy, guiding life-changing encounters with the Gray whales that return to San Ignacio Lagoon every year. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be in the presence of these gentle, beautiful creatures. I’ll never forget the knowledge and hospitality of the Pachico family!
