See how AXA XL partnered with Green Standards to sustainably decommission multiple floors in #NYC's financial district. Employing the principles of a #CircularWorkplace, Green Standards diverted the global insurance provider's furniture, fixtures, and equipment from landfill through resale and specialized recycling, while making in-kind donations to 7 local #nonprofits including @citytechcuny , High School for Environmental Studies, and Materials for the Arts. “Recognizing the potential for significant furniture waste, we partnered with Green Standards to ensure that our office assets were repurposed and donated to local community organizations.” - Jérôme Itty, AXA XL's Chief Operating Officer, Americas #Reuse #CircularEconomy #SocialImpact

This week we welcomed our North American team to our new downtown Toronto HQ. From the reused furniture to the salvaged hardwood floors to the recycled carpet tiles, it’s a physical representation of what we do every day around the world. And we’ll be showing it off during Toronto Climate Week — stay tuned! 🔄 #CircularWorkplace

This Earth Day, we co-hosted a workshop on Everyday Circularity with our friends @haworthcanada . By connecting motivations and actions at home and work, participants bonded over the small changes that build the #CircularEconomy. Big thanks to Greta Jost, Nicole Clancy and all our enthusiastic participants! #CircularWorkplace

What happens to office furniture when it’s no longer needed? Each year, 8.5 million tonnes of office furniture end up in landfills across North America. At Holland Bloorview, we didn’t want to be part of that statistic. Through our partnership with @greenstandards , we repurposed our office furniture, keeping usable items in circulation and reducing waste as part of our sustainability efforts. Good things happen when you work with the people who make things happen. They’re called facility managers and we’ve helped them donate millions of dollars of workplace assets to their local schools and non-profits. Now, as the official Social Impact Partner of IFMA, we’re building new bonds between FMs and their communities. Stay tuned!

Q. What good can an office chair do? We manage the social value chain of furniture, fixtures, and equipment donated to thousands of schools and non-profits around the world every year. That means we get to see thousands of inspiring ways that beneficiaries like New Liberty Food Pantry turn corporate donations into community impact. A. An office chair can feed a Detroit family for 11 days.
