Greenpoint Gallery on Friday, May 15th from 7-12pm Come make a friend, flirt, buy some art and groove to performances by @tlawwwww @halloumiradio @johnfredmarc Weezie is a multidisciplinary artist who finds inspiration from the natural world, nostalgia and lasting sensory impressions of moments around the dinner table with family and friends. Weezie's style can best be described as pop art with a surrealist edge, and she focuses her energy around the mediums of painting, collage, sculpture and poetry. Weezie's work aims to remind people that love can be found everywhere from the sounds of leaves rustling in the wind, to the first bite of a perfectly ripe apple, to the expression of rage that bubbles to the surface when you're finally able to process grief.

Join us this Friday May 1st at 8pm for the Solo exhibition of previous winner Danielle Saeva ! Artist Statement My work reflects my evolving perspective and my relationship to the world around me. Through honest depictions of personal meditations and lived experiences, I aim for my work to function as a mirror—one that fosters collective understanding and healing. My process begins intuitively, allowing the narrative to gradually come into focus. This push and pull of looking, seeing, and searching becomes a way of deepening my understanding. Working primarily in portraiture and the figure, I explore both stylistic and symbolic approaches to capture the essence of a person or moment. Nature is a constant source of inspiration. I’m drawn to the parallels between human experience and the natural world—our cycles, like those in nature, reflect patterns of growth, decay, and renewal. In seeking to understand the world around us, we come closer to better understanding ourselves.

Having learned classical painting methods during my time at SUNY Fredonia, my style is representational, but with an aesthetic aligning best with impressionist paintings. I love exploring the relationship between a detailed and “realistic” painting from afar, but when inspected closer having textured brush strokes and exposed portions of underpainting. I try to create intriguing compositions and candid poses from my models to breathe new life into portraiture. I also explore the idea of mixing photography with my paintings to create familiar but unusual color palettes and compositions.

Join us this Friday April 27th for the Solo exhibition Of previous Open Call Winner: Maria Kransnopolsky Artists Statement : Maria Krasnopolsky, an atelier painter, presents a solo exhibition showcasing her work at the intersection of shadow, beauty, and decay. Drawing from time saturation and memento mori in New York, Naples, and Tokyo, she creates atmospheric compositions exploring themes of figurative art, classical technique, plein air, and urban landscape. Her work examines contemporary unease, impermanence, and extinction.

Join us this Friday April 17th for the Solo show of One of our previous Open Call winners Ayla Subyak Artists statement : Dreams That Haven’t Happened Yet explores a relationship between memory and physical media. Drawing inspiration from close personal relationships, lived experiences, and a deep-rooted connection to the act of creation, the work reflects a process that is both introspective and deeply personal. Drawn to the intersection of memory, femininity, and imagination, Ayla’s work often begins through personal narrative. Each image becomes a space where curiosity and emotion converge, inviting viewers into moments that feel both intimate and unfamiliar. Through a combination of photography and mixed media, Ayla constructs a visual language that blurs the line between tangible and imagined by using both archival and original imagery. The series as a whole asks: at what point does a memory begin? The pieces move between past and present, reality and imagination, coming together as a series of moments that feel open ended rather than fixed.
