The making of my bronze fish spouts! Physical labor, skill and some bravery (or craziness?) is required. Thanks @greenfoundry ! #bronzesculpture #bronzefoundry #animalsculpture #fishart

Here’s one reason why bronze sculptures are pricey. You need a crew of skilled people- who are@willing to work with molten metal- to make your pieces. This is just one step of a process. Next up, take a hammer to the molds to break out the bronzes. #bronzesculpture #bronzefoundry #greenfoundry #fishart #waterspouts

Iron casting made easy with a tilting furnace. Skimmed it a little here. And then held back turning the pour.

Here’s the next stage in turning my ceramic fish heads into bronze water spouts. The wax mold is encased in this frit. (This step takes 2 weeks!). Next up— casting! Then there will be more… welding the fins on and applying the patina. So complicated. Thankfully, @greenfoundry knows what they’re doing so this newbie can make this art!! #bronzesculpture #fishart #greenfoundry #waterspouts
