Our bathrooms are arguably the least environmentally-friendly part of our house as most items are single-use or disposable.
One of the biggest culprits are razors, both the refillable as well as the disposable kind. Their (mostly) plastic make up and high turnover rate make a lethal combo for our environment.
The most environmentally-friendly way to combat this issue are metal safety razors which are plastic free and completely recyclable. Although there is a higher up-front cost for the razor itself, the replaceable blades can costs anywhere between $10-$20 for a pack of 50 which keeps your running costs nice and low.
If a metal safety razor isn't for you and you have a preference for the refillable or disposable kind, you can still do your part! Gillette have teamed up with a company called TerraCycle to create a recycling program exclusively for razors. All you have to do is join, collect then ship - they even cover the shipping costs!

Mitch and Kody Toeroek established Green Efficient Living in 2013 with the vision to create a company that provides their customers with affordable, high-quality work matched with a high level of service that is second-to-none.
“Mitchy” is the eldest of the Toe Bro’s and is a Refrigeration Mechanic by trade. He’s got a vocabulary of his own and strange noises coming from his office are the norm. Nevertheless, Mitch’s devotion to his team and his work ethic are unparalleled. Animated and innovative, he’s the first to bring you up when you’re down and the first to let you know when there’s a new software update available.
Kody, or “Toey”, is an Electrician by trade and our solar guru. He has no filter which can sometimes cause him to suffer from foot-in-mouth syndrome but luckily, he has a canny ability to swap into ‘professional’ mode at the flick of a switch. Meticulous and methodical, you can always count on Kody to remember the details and deliver consistency.
One is yin and the other is yang but both brothers are committed to staying on the front foot by continually looking for ways to make our company more 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 and more 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 🌱
