All of the experimentation has led me here so far. I tried 5 different solutions with 3 different brands and 6 different papers before landing on what i need in this moment to make this work. I walked out of the studio happy and knowing what to do next.#graysonstudios #blackwomanprintmaker #printmakersofinstagram
One of the many things I love about being an artist is the mad scientist part of it all. Today I tested paper, chemicals, processes. New series loading. #graysonstudios #printmakersofinstagram #blackwomanprintmaker
O Mercado de Escravos (the Slave Market). Lagos, Portugal. I have just returned from Faro and Lagos, Portugal. Still processing what I saw and felt so I don’t have much to say or really want to say other than some of what I saw was both beautiful and horrible. The people I met in Portugal were wonderful. I wanted to capture my image overlaid with some of the images of what I saw. 15th century to 21st century. #Blackwomanwriteratwork #blackwomanprintmaker #dcartist #bwop
I try to update all of my photos every few years. If you know me you know that I dread doing this. But you know who makes the experience wonderful? @dfinneyphoto . She is masterful at what she does. As is @denyelledbeauty who does NOT beat your face (she is gentle) but gets you right. So pleased to have such an incredible glam squad when I need them. Thanks y’all!
Dress by @damali.wear hair by @susanlpeterkin jumpsuit is mine.
A view from my new studio. I’ve been so busy I have barely posted that we have an open studio today at 2414 Douglas Street NE Washington DC. I am now on the first floor. Beautiful day to come look at art. #dcartist #otbt #graysonstudios #offthebeatentrack
The start of 2025 has been rough. I can believe that these are my first prints of the year but they are! Nearly done with these works in progress. Getting ready for #IFPDA with my print sisters of #blackwomenofprint. One more layer on both.
