Techno, Breaking, Street Art: TWIST ist diese Woche auf Europas Straßen unterwegs. Von Belgrad über Berlin, Paris bis Barcelona zeigen Künstlerinnen und Künstler, wie sie ohne Bühne sichtbar werden – und damit Geld verdienen. Mit Straßenkunst verwandeln sie den öffentlichen Raum in einen Ort für Beats, Protest und Performance. Dabei müssen sie gegen viele Widrigkeiten kämpfen.

OUT NOW! Qataghani is a folk tradition from northern Afghanistan built on hypnotic repetition. With Humnava in Hunza we took a composition in this style and let it move all of us. We merged it with a Burushaski poem, the local language of Gilgit, Pakistan. The rubab carried the hypnotic modal core. I added electronic beats and synths underneath. The skilled @zulfiqarjkhan pulled through with a vision for our Song „Qataghani“ to be as true as poss to the original traditional composition— and to only AMPLIFY the spirit of the arrangement.
We all let the energetic entrancing pace of the pace enter us. Us being the amazing instrumentalists @hunaid745@alihabib.22@mujeebruzik and @ilhan_musa_ and the MADMAN of a percussionist @adnankarim_music . On the vocal Intermezzo we have the enchanting @timlfati from @tissilawen_officiel ♥️ We hope you like it!:)

Qataghani, a rhythm from northern Afghanistan, the engine of weddings, harvest mehfils, and circle dances that run from sundown until first light. Rubab and dambura masters carried it across the Pamirs centuries ago into the valleys of Hunza.
Burushaski verse by the late Ustad Ghulam Abbas Hassanabadi of Hunza. Burushaski is a language isolate, spoken only in the high valleys of Hunza, Nagar, and Yasin.
