‘Phaser for The Ocean, Chorus for The Moon’ is his magnum opus, a sprawling masterwork that encompasses ambient, new age and environmental music to wondrous effect. Soaked in Californian consciousness, the album is a balm like no other for these troubled times.
“It’s lovely stuff, the way the tracks unfurl, slowly, gently, feels very West Coast…This is top notch.” - Neil Mason, @moonbuildingmag
“…a sweetly moving, hypnotic, and deliciously enveloping sonic meditation” - Philippe Blache, Igloo Mag
All art and packaging design by @non.format / @anti_inc
Track: ‘And The Walls Became The World All Around’
Taken from: ‘Phaser for The Ocean, Chorus for The Moon’

With the 25th anniversary issue hitting newsstands and some nice posts from former colleagues floating about, I came across my editor’s note from the 10 year anniversary issue of @dwellmagazine and thought I would share it here. Recently my older son read something else I wrote and offered, “bro, this is so perfect… it’s like AI.” A gen alpha compliment if there ever was. Reading this now, it does feel as distant and inscrutable as something produced by the latest large language model—not my own hand. I’m not one for puffery, but I couldn’t help but be a little impressed with my former self and the quality of this missive from what feels like a vastly simpler time. The world feels so impossibly dark right now and ninety nine percent of everything seems terrible and pointless. I, for one, needed this little spark of optimism and gratitude from my 15-year-ago self.
For most people Dwell is and was just a magazine on the Whole Foods check out aisle, but for me it was the foundation of my entire adult life (friendships, relationships, education, career) and remains a peak experience. It’s hard to communicate what an amazing group of people came together to make it happen, and when you’re in the moment (all 11 years of it) you just think it will always be like that and go on forever. I remain indebted to and inspired by everyone who played a part and wish we were all getting a beer at the Great Water right now.
Have had so many things rolled up in tubes for so long that I began to forget what was even in the archives. Found this crazy leek in Palm Springs with @acid_free back in February so we splurged on a visit to @eric.rose.art.services . Need more walls!
