⏳ Time: Understandably, it's hard for creative teams to carve out substantial time for internal innovation projects due to client work and other commitments. We devote an entire week — free of distractions — to our hackathon project.
🤝 Collaboration: For many tech professionals, remote work is the norm. Having access to in-person collaboration with colleagues for 7 days is a game-changer.
🏝️ Environment: Whether it's sunny Spain or England's green and pleasant lands, a relaxed environment close to nature is a prerequisite for our hackathon base.

One of the most common things we hear from potential clients at @gravitywelluk is the phrase, "This product is for everyone".
It sounds great — who doesn’t want their startup to have universal appeal? — but it actually tends to be a slight red flag for us. 🚩
Why? If you’re targeting everyone, then what makes your product unique?
In the case of #Jargonaut, we’ve taken some time to establish who we think our primary users are and, more importantly, who they aren’t.
For the early stages of the product, we now know that we’re not targeting:
👶 Absolute beginners, who’ve never spoken the language before
🎒 People who want to learn grammar or vocabulary with a very structured, school-like approach
🌎 Fluent speakers who want to brush up or practice
This allows us to describe our initial users as:
💬 Having at least some basic ability to communicate in their target language
✨ Seeking immersive, always-changing conversational practice
🏖 Across a broad range of topics, ideas and vocabulary, with some degree of situational consistency
This might sound like we’re locking out potential audiences, but instead, it gives us a huge amount of clarity about who we’re building for — and the features we should prioritise.
After all, the goal is to surprise and delight our first users so they act as engaged advocates for our product as it develops!

Some elements are undertaken alone — be it ideation, design, or development. We need these periods of independent focus to make tangible progress, but R&D comes to life when we share what we’ve done.
A technical demo can start conversations about the product roadmap.
Wireframes can provoke questions about the route to market.
Simply testing and using what we’ve built can force us to question who it’s for.
The more open-ended, relaxed and diverse these opportunities are, the better — because our shared excitement and vision drives us forward.
One person can achieve a lot, but a team can support and celebrate each milestone, whilst also questioning both the why and how.
