Edge Guard is a brush conditioner designed to restore moisture to the hairs and help maintain the structure of the point.
One of the key ingredients is lanolin.
Lanolin is a natural wax derived from sheep’s wool. It’s the substance that protects wool fibers from drying out in nature. Because it closely mimics the natural oils found in hair, lanolin is widely used in hair conditioners, leather treatments, and brush care products.
When worked lightly into a brush, lanolin helps keep the hairs flexible, prevents them from becoming brittle, and encourages the tip to return to a sharp point.
Edge is included with any purchase of Wraithwax for a limited time.

⚔️ The Brush is a Blade.
A good Kolinsky brush is more than a tool.
It’s a blade.
Kolinsky sable is prized in miniature painting because it forms a razor sharp point while holding a strong belly. This balance gives painters both precision and control. The tip handles the finest details, while the belly holds enough paint to keep strokes smooth and consistent.
The natural spring of Kolinsky hair is what makes it special. It bends under pressure and snaps back into shape, allowing you to paint clean lines, controlled highlights, and smooth blends.
But even the finest blade dulls without care.
Acrylic paint works its way deep into the hairs during painting. Over time that residue can stiffen the brush and ruin the point if it isn’t cleaned properly. Rinsing during use, washing with brush soap after each session, and reshaping the tip while drying will keep a good Kolinsky performing the way it should.
Take care of the blade.
And it will serve you well.
