MONTRÉAL | NOUVELLE EXPOSITION
Blouin Division a le plaisir de présenter "La femme 100 têtes", une exposition d’Angela Grauerholz présentée à l’occasion du lancement de son nouveau livre.
Réunissant plus de 150 portraits de 100 femmes réalisés sur plus de 30 ans, le projet emprunte son titre au roman-collage surréaliste de Max Ernst (1929). Grauerholz en prolonge le double sens, « la femme aux cent têtes » autant que « la femme sans tête », en tissant images et fragments de textes pour tracer un portrait multiple, intime et énigmatique de la féminité.

Blouin Division is pleased to present "The hundred headless woman", an exhibition by Angela Grauerholz, coinciding with the launch of her new book.
Featuring over 150 portraits of 100 women taken over more than 30 years, the project takes its title from Max Ernst’s 1929 surrealist collage novel. Grauerholz extends its double meaning, “the woman with a hundred heads” as well as “the headless woman”, weaving images and fragments of texts to create a complex, intimate, and enigmatic portrait of femininity.

I see that in my excitement I misquoted the English title: The hundred headless woman… here another ‘on press’ photo…on top the proofs and on the bottom the printed version. Chez Steidl in Göttingen. Grateful !
