Pay the Rent is a unique grassroots First Nations-led initiative built on truth-telling, solidarity, and self-determination. Funds contributed are redirected by Sovereign First Nations peoples for the benefit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The Sovereign Body sits at the centre of this model, ensuring all decisions respond to community needs, aspirations, priorities, efforts, and collective wellbeing.
Pay the Rent is seeking Expressions of Interest from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples to join the Sovereign Body. We are looking for respected individuals who can bring cultural strength and community knowledge, and who can contribute to responsible and collective decision-making to guide Pay the Rent’s governance, strategy and distribution of funds.

Ahead of the coronial inquest into the death in custody of Cleveland Dodd, there will be a vigil on 2nd April meeting at Forrest Place Perth at 12pm and marching to the Corrective Services Office at 28 Barrack Street.
There will also be a press conference at 10am
at the National Suicide Prevention and Trauma Recovery Project Office, 201 Beaufort Street, Perth. Family of Cleveland Dodd will be present at the press conference to speak of the failures which stole Cleveland’s Life.
