This one was personal… on so many levels
Working with @kaicollective ,one of our very first clients always feels like coming full circle. Together, we created the Gaia print, a moment that marked a turning point for both Kai Collective and Grapes Pattern Co.
This time, the theme was Ojude Oba, a celebration of beauty, culture, and the royalty of the Ijebu people. For our Creative Director, Adebusola, an Ijebu girl who has attended this festival since childhood, this wasn’t just another brief… it was a story close to home.
We knew this print had to feel alive. It had to spark something.
From translating the mood board into a visual story, to celebrating Fisayo and Folabi through design ,every detail mattered. The colours, the motifs, the scale, the energy, the style… everything came together in a way that felt both powerful and effortless.

August 2019, two women took a chance on an idea we couldn’t fully see yet

Back then, Grapes Pattern Co had only created for 2 brands who believed in us without proof. No portfolio. No guarantees. Just trust.
After countless days of creating, doubting, refining… the Gaia print was born. We didn’t know it would become what it is today. We didn’t know the doors it would open. But we showed up anyway.
What started as uncertainty became a turning point. For both brands. For our journey. For our belief in ourselves.
Seeing it now, reimagined for #NeverGettingMarried in @fisayolonge aso oke bridal look by @couturebytabik … it’s hard to put into words. It feels like time folding in on itself. Like a beginning meeting a new beginning.
