Ever since I posted that video of my lovely wife Jill rocking out with the Trans Canada Highwaymen, thousands of you have asked, “that’s great Grant, but do YOU rock out anymore?” The answer is… “You May Be Right”!
But these days I usually only get my kicks in lobby bars of Mexican resorts in the deep off-season. As you can see, my entertainment is Trans-International, and knows of no cultural or language barriers. I’m climbing the ladder of success, bambino!

Happy **86th** birthday to my dear old Dad. Thanks for always taking me down the path of adventure, whether I wanted to go or not! Not sure when you started wearing Converse high tops but okay!! Move over, Pony Boy Curtis…

This really breaks my heart. It’s hard to put into words how much Tod Elvidge has meant to my broadcasting career at the CBC, but to put it plainly, he was my first executive producer, and he taught me everything I know about mics and consoles and studios and booths and, yes, how best to avoid bureaucratic BS. We also got to work together all over the place, back in the free-wheelin’ CBC days, at live broadcasts in legendary places like the Ship Inn in St. John’s, Newfoundland, the Chelsea Hotel in New York, and Emo’s in Austin. Tod taught me so much about radio… including possibly his greatest lessons… trust your ears, and trust your audience. Loved the man, just the greatest guy, and he will be dearly missed by me and many others.
Among the shows Tod produced or worked on for CBC Radio:
Double Exposure
The Debaters
Randy’s Vinyl Tap
RadioSonic (yours truly)
RadioEscapade (same)
Radio 3 (same)
Pearls of Wisdom
Richardson’s Roundup
… and others I’m forgetting!

When your son’s band shows up at your show and crowd surfs to your song… 😂🤘🏼Something we would never have imagined when Nick wrote this one in the back of the van in deepest Alabama in 1994. So many generations of rock ‘n rollers at the show last night! Thanks to @thetranzmitors for making this Smugglers reunion happen and to @backstagerider for the video. ❤️ @bluejayvalleyband@wynn88
