Proud Uncle Moment! In the last two weeks this kid has been part of the winning championship team at the Utah Classic, made the Honor Roll, turned 13 and was just NATIONALLY ranked No. 8 for average points per game! Yep, I'm bragging!!

David had an opportunity to go on a trip with a friend so I decided to visit NYC by myself while he was gone. I'm not sure why I chose NYC initially but as I spent three days walking mile after mile, going to three Broadway shows, hanging at the Carlyle, visiting several museums, popping into little eateries and doing some shopping, I realized I was there for a reason. My parents LOVED New York and some of my most cherished memories are with them there. With my mom's recent passing, they are both gone now but I had this distinct feeling that they were "with" me every step during my entire trip. Thanks Mom and Dad for passing along your love for the greatest city in the world! We did it old-school together and had a great time!

I've had 59 years and 364 days of a nice life...made even more special in the last 15+ years by this guy who just treated me to an AMAZING weekend in Montecito. I'm a lucky dude!!
Current situation...a finished puzzle (took four days!), starting book No. 2, Linda Ronstadt playing in the background, a snow storm outside, a warm fire inside, another home-cooked meal done and a glass of wine by my side. My stomach and heart are both full as one year passes into the next.
