Just the pick me up I needed !
This month's Black and white photography magazine just arrived and I have my second feature within the pages . I was very proud when I received the email back around November time requesting a contribution.
The last 6 weeks have been tough going at times while I recover from knee surgery. I have been forced to leave the camera alone and focus on my darkroom printing
You should see the pile of prints I have awaiting toning , pressing and re touching ! I just keep printing more and putting off the final stages

Wow !
I just awoke to some lovely news .
My Storm Babet 20x16 darkroom print was overall Gold winner at the Royal Photographic Analogue Exhibition in Oxfordshire this weekend !
I understand this was the biggest to date with 88 entries sent from various countries
Given where I am right now living on crutches post surgery that's just the kind of pick me up I needed . It makes me want to get out there and take more photographs but alas that's quite some way off right now !

Look what arrived in the post !!
I have been featured in Black &White Photography magazine. It's just one more step on my journey.
I have committed to an exhibition in a couple of weeks and I have had some great feedback from a couple of galleries . I think creating the images has to be the easy fun part . Getting your work in front of the right pairs of eyes is a great deal harder .
I need to focus my dogged determination in that department more and I will !

I have walked past this ivy growing on the side of the farm wall , close to our home for 16 years . I think it took me 14 years to notice it and 15 to photograph it

It's almost 2 years I have been working on a specific photography project now. It's been a labour of love to say the least . Cost has gone out of the window , this is about making something special rather than making money .
I have printed 10 images in the darkroom and the book will hopefully go to print later this year .
It's been a very special experience to keep something close to my chest and close to my heart for so long . This is one image from the project that I have decided to share for now .
