NEW WORK: GA_SYS2_SCU_003 - Acrylic on birch ply, varnished.
Before I left Scotland I was working on a series of artworks pulled from a generative visual system I wrote. Using the same 5 shapes rearranged at the press of a button, I would refresh the canvas and be given a different pattern each time, playing with various parameters.
From there I’d select which ones felt right to take further into print, paint or sculpture. This is a very satisfying explorative process, I like their strong typographic quality.
