Ok ok ok. I did a thing 😅 Episode 3 tonight me on your tv screen Godfather of Harlem short brief appearance. I’m an actor y’all! This caption is going to be a bit storied lol 😂 But long story short. Chris Brancato made it a joke that he would put me in the show 🤔 Me, I’m like “no way”. Thought it was a joke. I’ll leave out the detail of the joke of a scene he wanted me to be in 😅 But yes, he puts me in. Now I wasn’t looking for this nor did I ask as I take my main responsibility to the show very serious of making sure the sdtk and score is done well. However, any who know me know I love a challenge and will rise to the occasion so I came prepared and remembered my 2 lines. With that being said, my first acting role tonight opposite Forest Whitaker with Ronald Isley and Yul Vazquez 🫣talk about no pressure lol 😅 But I enjoyed myself 😊 and appreciated the whole crew who makes this magic happen in front of the screen. Everyone was kind and professional. Son-day, Wu-tang 👐🏾Philly concert, last show of their last tour recap and photo dump. (For those that want to know why it was special for me read on☺️) So my son says to me back in April. “Dad I would like to take you to the Wu-Tang concert for your birthday, I’ll buy the tickets”. Now that alone melted my heart🥲 when your kid offers to do something for you, the parent, as you grow accustomed to the, mom, dad can you do this for me lingo lol 😂 the opposite is a shocker. Usually I play music for years now, especially hip hop from my era 90’s early 00’s and never could gage his level of interest, I felt like the dated old head lol 😂 but he showed me an interest as of late especially to Wu-tang. Maybe because he knows how dear it is to me being that they are trailblazers from my hometown of Staten Island, NYC and their movement holds a special place in my heart because it represented to the world 🌎 where we are from. Fast forward the date comes around I’ve been tired from travel and jet lag and he still says “Dad we still going to the concert” I was hoping he forgot lol. For those who know me they know I’m not a fan of concerts, the crowds, the parking, the performances not being that good lol 😂 and just not my thing 🤷🏽‍♂️ plus I never like hitting up my peoples for tickets and stuff because I can’t stand when people do it to me lol 😂 but for this one I reached out to my good friend and solid guy @steverifkind and he and Xavier took good care of us. All access backstage vip “gave me cool dad points” lol My son had an amazing time and we bonded in a different way for his first hip hop concert and a group from my era meant a lot to him 🥲🥹 Good music is timeless. He was in awe and said it was lit! 🙌🏾 He saw Wu Tang, Lauryn Hill, LL Cool J, and Free way🔥 He had a good conversation with my man Divine who founded Wu-Tang with Rza, who said some amazing things about me to him 🙏🏽 Also, a childhood friend, good brother Dawad, @d.w.joe whom I haven’t seen since we were kids, did the same. Speaking with this brother and seeing his growth coming from where we come from and the conversation we had was one of the highlights of the night.
