If you know me, you know Leo.
Boy was big. And he was a ham. And an old grump. But in the way your old man says he wants to get rid of the stray you brought home even though behind closed doors he adores it. I’m sure that’s how Leo felt when his far more experienced riders gave him me.
Most of our lessons I could feel him roll his eyes at my lack of coordination and feel. Sometimes I could hear him chuckle when our trainer would bark “what the hell was THAT?” as I’d try to do…well, anything. I’m convinced we lost our left changes after I finally mastered our right ones because you thought it would be funny. You were right.
Life feels very different without your better half. He’ll never know the people I’ll meet and love in the future. But they’ll know him. Because if you know me, you know Leo.
Goodnight my sweetest pea, my lion boy.
always, your little girl.
