March 12th!! You (yes, YOU!) will be able to purchase the Idolfire paperback, pictured above. I love this edition so much I took it on a field trip to a 2000 year old roman outpost on the border ridge, & for a walk along Dere Street, named for the ancient kingdom of Deria in modern day Northumberland. It was in these hills at the arse end of nowhere that Idolfire was born, & it felt fitting to bring it home again today.
Thank you @aled.thompson for the stunning cover art & the legends @hodderscape for making it all happen.

What's next??!
Heaven's Graveyard marks my final published book for the foreseeable future. I won't be so melodramatic as to say I'm 'retiring' cuz I'm almost certain I'll have another idea some day and want to write it. But for the time being I'm taking a break. But that begs the question... What will I be doing in the meantime?
Since this is the internet I have ordered my answer into an easily digestible numbered list. Swipe on...
1. Writing Garbage Country
A few months ago a very talented indie dev called Thomas Vandenberg asked if I wanted to help write the story his next game. I can't say too much now except that the game is excellent, Thomas and Eli are the best and I am having a lot of fun.
2. my actual job
February will mark my 5 year anniversary at Future Friends (Board of Directors pictured left to right: Paul, Alex, Thomas, Kris). It's a small company that publishes & promotes indie games and it's lowkey the best such outfit in the UK, if not the world. Very fortunate to work there. Here's to five more.
3. Hanging out with Linda
The day I handed in my finished draft of Heaven's Graveyard I went on a Hinge date and wound up making out with this beautiful girl in Abney Cemetery. That was Linda!! She's the best thing to happen to me this year & that's saying a lot because it's been a great year. I look forward to spending even more time with her in graveyards & elsewhere. Everyone say thank you Linda!
4. Hanging out with my gorgeous friends
Self explanatory.
5. Crafts
I'm learnding.
6. Mountains
More!! More!!! I can never have enough!!!!
7. Seeing the horses
Where Ferry Lane intersects with the Lea River path it's a 14km / 9 mile round trip into the fringes of the countryside, & i've heard from a reliable source that there are horses there. my new goal as a runner is to go see the horses.
...& of course one last promo gauntlet for Heaven's Graveyard, which is out in June.
I hope you folks don't mind me stopping a while. 4 feels like a nice round number & they're all pretty different so if you don't like one you can try another. Or read somebody else! I hear great things about ""the library""
Thanks as always! Love ya!! Back soon!!!

Congrats Carl!!!
It's been a big year for the ole Floating Hotel, what with the sci-fi Book of the Month back in March and now one of the Waterstones Paperbacks of the year and so on. Anyway I had a notion that Carl deserved some flowers for all his hard work and Amber (@corvophobia ) was kind enough to indulge.
Shout out as always to @hodderscape and @dawbooks the founders of the feast. And to all you lovely readers who gave our boy a shot. Love ya!!
