Each of the BlomsterHemp canopy parts is weighted down by three different columns - concrete casted into the 3d printed shell and hemp reinforced clay shell as well as the timber structure. Collab with @rtu.adi - @3d_concrete_rtu and @rudisrubenis

Posting the images of the finished structure for documentation purposes. And it finally got a nickname - BlomsterHemp. As the geometry a lot reminds some botanical flowery shape, we call it “many flowers”, in danish “blomster”, and hemp ending is defining its material origins - 100% hemp yarns are used for researching for @rawproject.eu

The Canopy 2 (Knit2Shape) is assembled and ready to join the other two canopies. Now it will be interesting to see how the textile volumes, made with the different techniques (digital knit and cut-n-sew) would match. Testing here the material characterization for shaping.

Pre-knit programming drawings. Here the diagram shows the planarized putlines with their measurements and edge tags in order to aid the matching of the physical panels together.

Posting some diagrams that demonstrate the upcoming prototype idea. We want to use part of the canopy to show how through the use of both digital simulation and digital fabrication we can differentiate the textile membrane based on the target performance. For example in thos case we allocate the more elastic knit structure of interlock in the green zones where the membrane is more stressed, being stretched outwards.
