Hello once again, and welcome back for our fifth episode of GRA.Selects! ♣️ This time around we have a special encore exhibition of Alejo’s live performance at COSI in Columbus, OH on 5.10.25. A continuation from Episode 03, this part 2 - 30 minute mix follows much of the trajectory as the first 40 minutes, criss-crosses genre boundaries painting a picture full of lush melodies, brutalistic basslines and sentimental emotions. Today, we are thrilled to shine our Artist Feature Spotlight onto our GRA.004 headliner: Sortof Vague ⚙️ “Most recently coming off a massive headlining slot at Meow Wolf, Denver-based DJ and producer Sortof Vague has spent the last decade pushing the frontier of forward-thinking bass and club music. His perceptive ability to select tracks that flow together and elevate the atmosphere of the room, matched by his talents as a music producer, have made him a staple in electronic music scenes across the US, ultimately leading him to found Observatory Records in 2023. With numerous notable record label and self releases over the years, Sortof Vague’s most recent works tend to focus on the fusion of the old school rave aesthetic & modern sound design and fidelity, often paying homage to the classic styles of electronic dance music. Artist Feature: charles nimbus ⚙️ “An undeniable presence in the underground electronic music world, charles nimbus has spent the better part of the last decade cementing his space within the scene through a plethora of mentionable music releases, notable performances and special guest appearances. Paying homage to classic styles of electronic dance music, his one of a kind take on percussive bass and ambient textures blends a multitude of genres defying any one scene and has garnered him a reputation for both versatility on stage and high quality production in the studio. A multi-disciplinary producer, Nimbus’s impact on modern club & bass music is already being felt far and wide with his contributions to such labels as @observatory.records & @colony_productions . Softof Vague, Charles Nimbus, Jetlag, Copi & Suspect on Saturday May 2, 2026 in Cincinnati, OH. 📍 🔦 Crew Spotlight: “Established in 2023, Observatory Records has quickly made a name for itself as one of the most promising up and coming record labels in the underground bass/club scene featuring releases by a number of underground giants including Detox Unit, Crawdad Sniper, Villain Era and Sortof Vague to name a few. In a recent interview with Electric Hawk, label founder Sam Whittingham lays out the origins and future for the label, providing exclusive insight into the workings of Observatory. Rather than regurgitate it here, we urge you to read the @electric_hawk original article written just last month. Since the article, the imprint has debuted their newest project, OBS Radio, a blistering 37 minute mix from @detoxunit & @sortofvague featuring a slew of IDs and unreleased tunes. Artist Feature: Jetlag ♣️ “If you’re in or around the Cincy electronic music scene, you’ve likely come across the name ‘Jetlag’ by now. Based in Cincinnati, OH, Steffen Beach leapt onto the scene as a budding DJ talent just over 1 year ago and has been a consistent presence making his rounds at a multitude of events. Having spent this time sharpening both his curation and technical DJing skills Jetlag has become a force to reckon with. Specializing in versatility, his passion for all types of music is clearly apparent in his sets, which range anywhere from ambient/downtempo to uptempo bangers. Artist Feature: Suspect ♣️ “With just 2 years of public performances under his belt, Cincinnati native Eric Thompson, known by his stage name Suspect, has launched onto the dance music scene showcasing his unique style of DJing. His live sets, often consisting of styles like drum and bass, nuerobreaks & others, traverse a dynamic range of emotions and highlight his passion for storytelling. Be sure to check out both of his ‘Styles’ mixes on the GRA SoundCloud to get a taste of what Suspect is all about.” Slated with opening duties for this one, we are looking forward to Suspect setting the stage for GRA.004! 😎

GRA.004 - Featured Live Painter “Cincinnati native Tina Kellaris, @artofteener , has spent the better part of the last decade fostering her unique style of two-toned, high contrast, and often large format painting. Known for her bold compositions and flowing designs, you will find her works both on and off the canvas as she has been commissioned to complete a number of larger scale works at various music festivals and local bars/venues.” Join us on 5/2 to see what new works Tina is working on! ♣️

GRA.004 - Artist Feature: Copi ♣️ “Spawned in the summer of 2025, Copi (cō-pee) is the artistic brainchild of Cincinnati based DJ & music producer Ryan Hunt. Specializing in live sets that focus on high energy musical selections, his sets will regularly include a variety of electronic dance music sub genres such as garage, dubstep & glitch hop. In preparation for his inevitable debut release, you will often get the opportunity to hear an original tune baked into his sets as well. By contrast, Copi’s most recent mix release, Ep. 01 of the GRA.Selects Mix Series, tells a slightly different story. Observatory Records & GRA.audio present GRA.004 ft. Softof Vague, Charles Nimbus, Jetlag, Copi & Suspect on Saturday May 2, 2026 in Cincinnati, OH. 📍 🔦 Crew Spotlight: “GRA.audio is a collective of DJs based in Cincinnati, OH whose primary focus is on building proper DJ culture and community. Established in 2023, the collective grew from a small group of likeminded individuals seeking a space to explore DJ culture and the artists that have guided and continue to guide the history of electronic music. In 2025, GRA launched their first full moon mix series, ‘Styles’, featuring 12 episodes that explore various styles and subgenres nestled within the electronic dance music genre. The mix series soon culminated into an initial live event, ‘GRA.001 - Style Sessions’ in early 2025 marking the beginning of GRA’s involvement in producing smaller capacity, high quality events in the local Cincinnati scene. This event would soon be followed by a multitude of additional shows including the more notable ‘GRA.002 ft Alejo & Danny Grooves’ and ‘GRA.003 The Takeover’ in early 2026. As of April of this year, the crew has begun work on its second mix series entitled ‘GRA.Selects’, diverting from the previous year’s series ethos and seeking to explore the most intimate personal selections that each curator has to offer. ♣️”
