I haven’t posted much of me singing lately… honestly, I haven’t posted much of anything. Life’s been heavy. Even the little things—getting out of bed, replying to someone I love hearing from—have felt like climbing a damn mountain. And I guess I’ve just been sitting with all the imperfections… in my voice, in my life, in me. But here’s the thing: I’m learning. Not to be perfect—but to be okay with not being perfect. To accept that life won’t always make sense, and neither will I. And that’s okay. This cover isn’t perfect—but it’s honest. It’s where I’m at right now. I don’t know what’s next, but I know I’m not done. I got up today. I made the calls. I reached out, small victories To friends or colleagues I’ve neglected recently—I’m sorry. Sometimes, you gotta throw on your best suit, your highest heels, and go after what you want! Last night, I competed in @singforyourlifenyc at @balconsalonnyc for the iconic @shequidahall —and walked out a winner with $200 in my pocket! The past few days have been rough, but it felt incredible to pour all of that emotion into a song and be recognized for it. I performed My Baby You by Marc Anthony—one of my biggest inspirations and one of the greatest male vocalists of all time. This song means so much to me, and I’m beyond grateful for everyone who listened and supported me. Singing is my passion. Being on stage is where I feel alive. And that’s all I want to do for the rest of my life. So, if you’re chasing a dream, put on your best suit and go after it—because if you don’t, someone else will. A huge thank you to @balconsalonnyc for hosting such an amazing event and to Shequida for being so kind, absolutely stunning, and hilarious. And guess what? Five years ago, I lived out a childhood dream—being showcased on American Idol. I spent my whole life believing that the day I made it onto a singing show would be the day my life changed forever. Little did I know, all of our lives were about to change—but not in the way I expected. COVID took away so many opportunities, but it could never take away that moment from me. I built something out of nothing, and even though life isn’t exactly where I want it to be, I’m so damn proud of how far I’ve come. I’ve held onto this dream for as long as I can remember. Some days, I feel unstoppable. Other days, I can barely get out of bed. But make no mistake—I made this happen for myself. My name is known to many, and my time isn’t over. I might not have it all figured out. I might be epically failing some days. But just wait and see—because I came here with nothing, and I will leave with my dream fulfilled. It might not happen fast, it might not happen how everyone expects, but it will happen. Idol was quick but not forgettable—one episode, and I became a fan favorite. And trust me, this is just the beginning.
