We’ve all heard it time and time again… “Be consistent.” BUTTT as creatives we know that creativity doesn’t always run on a schedule. Some weeks the ideas flow effortlessly. Other weeks… the inspiration just isn’t there. And if you’re an artist or building a creative business, that can make it feel like things aren’t running the way they need. 🤔You don’t need to force creativity to grow a creative business … you need a structure that supports the business around the creative part… 🤗Here are 3 things that help me keep my business moving forward while still honoring my creative rhythm: 1. Schedule the non-creative work: Admin, emails, finances, project management. Book these into your calendar every week and treat them like real appointments. Showing up to those “boring” tasks consistently creates stability in your business, even when inspiration is quiet. 2. Capture ideas as they come: Even if inspiration hits at 2am or in the middle of a walk, jot it down. I keep a running list of ideas for content, offers, and projects. Then, when I sit down to work, I’m never starting from scratch… I always have a seed to grow. 3. Give yourself space for focused, immersive work: Creativity thrives when it isn’t rushed. When I’m designing a website or working on a client project, I block out pockets of uninterrupted time to fully dive in. Your creativity has a rhythm. Your business just needs a structure that allows it to move. Build a business that works with your creativity not against it. ✨

✨ Fun features = smart strategy✨ Here’s how these features actually help these websites 👇 Listen…. We didn’t just add alllll these fun features “just for fun”.. I mean kinda 🙊 just to test some skills 😉😉 but they doooo have a purpose 🙋🏻‍♀️ because everything we do, we try to do intentionally.. We used these elements and designed experiences that engage visitors and showcase content in clever ways: 1) Flip cards for company bios → clean, interactive profiles (like playing cards), but cleans up all the text that can come with a list of company members 2) Flick-through albums → dynamic galleries that save space and keep the site minimalistic (perfect for Mel’s gallery). 3) Story scrolls → let visitors swipe through ecommerce products seamlessly whilst telling a story through unique images, each scroll tells another part of the brand whilst showcasing the product (Torreip’s shop feels effortless). 4) Animated scrolling features for an information heavy job-profit website → keeps people engaged and wanting to explore longer and gives users a break in between gathering info 5) Before & after sliders → transform products into art (like we did for Pressed in Time) 6) Website images revealed on scroll → layering website work appearing as soon as you scroll going over original hero text to get our website message across quickly, whilst showcases our work Fun features aren’t just cute… (but that should sometimes just be a reason in itself 😊😊).. but they do guide attention, highlight content, and make visitors stay longer, which is exactly what every website needs 🤗.

When the client sends “no changes” and you reread it 3 times to be sure 😂 Just over here consistently working for these types of messages 😅 But truthfully… Feedback is always part of the process and we need it. But messages like these usually come after a long working relationship, lots of strategy conversations, and built trust that I know the brand deeply, the goals clearly, and can design with full alignment 🤗.. like an extension of their team. . . . If you are ready for a collaborative and strategic process that gives you a website you are actually proud to share - get in touch @gpgdesigns 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

Most people don’t leave your website because they don’t like what you have to offer. They leave because their brain gets tired. “Cognitive load” is just another way of saying: how much thinking your website asks someone to do. ❌Too many options. ❌Too many buttons. ❌Too much text competing for attention. ❌Too many “what do I click next?” moments. When someone lands on a website and has to work to understand it, their brain goes into decision mode not trust mode. But when a website feels calm? 👉Clear path. 👉One main message. 👉One obvious next step. The brain relaxes. And relaxed brains trust faster. That’s why reducing cognitive load isn’t about “minimal design.” It’s about making someone feel safe enough to say yes to you. If you want a website that feels easy to be on (and easy to say yes to), let’s chat 🙋🏻‍♀️😍

Most people think launching a website is the finish line… it’s actually just step one 🫣 👩🏻‍💻It’s easy to launch a website, but how often do we revisit it to make sure it’s still serving us? Too often, we launch our websites and forget to keep them growing🙈. OR I do often hear people launching a website and then not understanding why it isn’t showing up on Google straight away... The truth is, building and launching a website is only step one. 🖥️Your website is a tool to support you and your creative goals, but just like your social accounts, it still needs maintenance and to stay up to date, to thrive 🥂!! According to a recent report done by Forbes 88% of users will not return to a website if they had a bad experience... and this includes out of date info or designs 👀. Setting goals to update, improve, and grow your website regularly will allow even more people to find you organically and keep your people coming back🤩! A website launch is just the start, not the finish line. 🗓️Start to set real, actionable website goals and keep the momentum going long after your launch. Let 2026 be the year you give your website the love it needs to thrive! 💌Save this post for a list of items to help get you started or as a reminder! Or do you need help with some updates or maintenance ? 🙋🏻‍♀️Reach out to us @gpgdesigns - we’ve been helping artists and creatives launch and maintain websites that they are proud of for over 8years🩷
