No one likes an unflattering photo or painting of themselves, which is why I went in a different direction for my official portrait. I’ve always been proud to support Colorado art, and this portrait was an exciting opportunity to do exactly that while embedding my image into the fabric of Colorado's history. I’m proud of the final product and want to thank the artists for their artistic vision, and personally feel that I have never looked better.

New research confirms what we know: strong academic support, especially in reading and math, helps students grow and succeed. As the former (@governors_nga ) Chair, I’m proud that our Let’s Get Ready initiative is helping states focus on what matters most: giving every student the skills they need for success in school, work, and life. Colorado will keep leading with bold, evidence-based solutions that help students thrive from classroom to career.

Commutations and pardons are carefully considered decisions where I seek to balance public safety with fairness, mercy and justice. I do what I personally believe is right, even knowing that sometimes these decisions can be unpopular. It is a power I take very seriously. Today, I am issuing an additional 35 pardons and 9 commutations for a variety of cases. Read my full statement to understand my thinking when making these difficult decisions.

Colorado is making our roads safer and more accessible for everyone. I was proud to sign HB26-1237, making it safer for cyclists and keeping traffic moving smoothly. Whether you bike, walk, drive, or ride, every Coloradan deserves a safe way to get where you need to go. Learn more from (@outtherecolorado )

The Larimer County Farmers’ Market is celebrating 50 years of supporting local farmers, small businesses, and communities in Northern Colorado. From fresh produce to local baked goods and family-friendly fun, this longtime Fort Collins tradition brings Coloradans together, supports hardworking producers, and boosts our local food economy.

Yesterday, I signed the bipartisan SB26-189 to keep Colorado a leading state for AI growth and innovation, supporting Coloradans and businesses. This law protects consumers, supports innovation, and makes clear that Colorado is a hub for new technology.

Today, skyrocketing homeowners insurance rates are pushing the cost of housing out of reach for too many Coloradans, or forcing Coloradans to make difficult choices to afford insurance. This is part of achieving my goal of saving Coloradans $800 on homeowners insurance in 2027 by helping Coloradans harden their homes against hail.

Today, flags at the Colorado State Capitol are lowered in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our communities. Their courage, service, and dedication to the safety of others represent the very best of public service. Colorado will always honor their memory, stand with their families, and continue working to build safer communities across our state.

Today I was proud to sign two bills making Colorado an even better place to do business, breaking down barriers and reducing regulation. SB26-137 is a bipartisan effort that will help lower the cost of doing business in Colorado by cutting through burdensome regulations, and will attract more businesses to Colorado. I’m grateful to President James Coleman and Minority Leader Cleave Simpson, Speaker of the House Julie McCluskie and Representative Jarvis Caldwell for their work on this bill. The new AI law, SB26-189, is a big step in the right direction for Colorado, and a model for the rest of the country. Replacing the old law that hasn’t taken effect yet will boost Colorado innovation and entrepreneurship. This law was created through thoughtful collaboration with input from many stakeholders including consumers, advocates, developers and more. Thank you to Majority Leader Rodriguez, Senate President Coleman, and many other legislators who have been a part of this effort to foster innovation in Colorado while protecting Colorado consumers.

Colorado is bear country, and as warmer, drier conditions push bears to wake up earlier and search farther for food, we all have a role to play in keeping our communities safe and helping bears stay wild. Colorado Parks and Wildlife has already logged increased bear activity this year, including 98 reports across 22 counties in the first quarter. That’s why our administration and CPW are taking practical, common-sense action: investing $1 million this year in Human-Bear Conflict Reduction grants, supporting bear-resistant trash cans and enclosures, expanding local education, and helping communities reduce the attractants that bring bears into neighborhoods in the first place. I was proud to sign the bipartisan law that helped launch this grant program, and CPW continues to lead with research, conflict response, public guidance, and proven strategies that protect both people and wildlife. Coloradans can help by locking up trash, removing bird feeders when bears are active, cleaning grills, keeping pets leashed, and never feeding wildlife. Small steps make a big difference. Together, we can keep Colorado safe, protect property, and make sure our bears remain wild where they belong.
