Hi friends! So... I've been a little quiet re. the Supra recently... Here's the story... I picked it up at the end of last year and it was a complete disaster! The car was undrivable (that's not hyperbole - it literally wasn't drivable (not safely anyway)) and I was so disheartened that I basically just left it in the garage for a couple of months. In a moment of desperation, several weeks ago, I reached out to Ryan Scott of Pure Function to see if he had any ideas on how to remedy this shitty situation I found myself in with the car. He felt confident that he could get it sorted and I believed him and so I had it towed to him right away! You wouldn't believe me if I told you all the major stuff that was wrong with the car! In a matter of just a couple of weeks, he had this monster of a car up and running! I got it back from him and then over the next couple of weeks, I identified a few things that still needed to be addressed that weren't so obvious prior, so he just finished buttoning up all of those things yesterday. I picked up the car this morning and for the first time in YEARS, the car is truly enjoyable to drive! It's wicked fast, the transmission feels amazing, traction control and boost control now work, and he even got the cruise control to work (which was no small task since the car is running a standalone ECU - not the factory ECU!). I had been at my wits' end with this car when I first got it back from being in the shop for well over a year and a half only to discover that it was a horrendous mechanical mess. I'm so grateful to Ryan... He literally saved the car! I was thinking I was just going to have to sell it as a project car because I didn't know what else do to! Thank you Ryan! If you have a Supra, I couldn't recommend Ryan/Pure Function highly enough. And Logan Visuals, still love this pic!

Hi all! For car people, this isn’t ideal weather here in the DC area but soon enough the snow and yuck will go away. In the meantime, when not spending time with family and friends or working, I’ve had some time to do some car shopping. 🙂 I wasn’t sure what I wanted to get next… that is until I saw this! It’s a Ryn FP3 and it’s awesome! It’s as close to a Formula 1 car as a consumer can get and it’s going to be street legal! I can’t wait to go to the office or the local Harris Teeter in it! It apparently has a frunk (though I can’t imagine it’ll hold very much at all besides the steering wheel). Of course practicality isn’t its purpose obviously. Despite a rather small motorcycle engine, it’s very quick and its handling will be next level amazing! The only downside I can see is that there’s only one seat so I won’t be able to enjoy and share the experience with anyone else. What do you think? I think it’ll be outrageously fun! Delivery is slated for sometime in 2028.

Hi all. A couple of car updates… I don’t tend to talk very much about the RSQ8 but that’s no reflection on it at all - I love that thing. It’s super quick (and it was fast before so now it’s comically fast), sounds amazing (now) and it’s super comfy. I just had a radar detector and laser jammer system installed and I think the install shop (SoundWorks) wanted to show off how good they are (and they are) - check out the control panel they made! The Supra… Austin and I got to see the car fully assembled (engine in car) a couple of weeks ago for the first time in 18 months. It’s getting close to being done (I might just be hoping that’s the case - LOL!) however there’s still plenty more to do. In order to accommodate the amount of power we are anticipating, more stuff needs to be beefed up. In terms of the really big stuff… they are replacing the differential and they’d like to replace the transmission and driveshaft too but we are holding on that for now. The ECU, wiring harness, a large proportion of the cooling system are being replaced as well. I figure it’ll be “done” sometime in November and hopefully I’ll get to enjoy it for a bit before having to put a new transmission in! ;) I’ll give updates about the other cars soon.

Sue got a new car! Hoping I’ll get to drive it sometimes too! It’s a plugin hybrid BMW X5. It’s got so many fun toys, like massaging (and ventilated and heated) seats, heated armrests, a glass/crystal shifter, and a moonroof that lights up. The level 2 autonomous driving is excellent! Our old Lexus served us well and I’m sure it’ll find a wonderful new home.

Hey friends! MLG is hiring... Do you know anyone that may be a good fit for us? If so, please forward them this message or introduce us! Most law firms are kinda boring. We’re not most law firms. Momentum Law Group is looking for an experienced (at least 5 years) business lawyer to join us on a part-time basis. You’ll work directly with entrepreneurs who are building and growing exciting companies, helping them navigate the legal side of business with practical, real-world solutions. We’re based in Rockville, Maryland and this role is in-person with a flexible schedule. No endless bureaucracy, no unattainable billing targets, just meaningful work with wonderful clients. If you’re sharp, personable, and enjoy the notion of bringing business sense to the practice of law, send your resume to [email protected].

Hi friends. Once again it’s been a minute since I’ve shared a car update so here’s where things stand… The Lotus… ugh… the dealer has had the car for almost a month trying to figure out what’s wrong and they haven’t been able to do so yet. Hopefully soon. 🤬 The Supra… Ben (the mechanic that rebuilt the motor) took it to Freed Engineering earlier this week to have them install a new ECU and wiring harness (and swap out the old ignition system in favor of individual coil packs). Once that’s done (no idea on timing of all that), they’ll tune it. Then back to Ben for some final buttoning up. And then I get it back! I can’t wait! I don’t know what it will make from a horsepower perspective but I’m hoping it’s well over 1,000. I think it will be. 🙂 Driving it will be like trying to steer a missile. Wanna go for a ride??
