. Historian Johannes Schläpfer has published a wonderful book about the Bloch custom. He explains the custom, its many variations, how it’s performed, and why it continues to fascinate new generations. This book guides readers through the history and present day of the Bloch Tradition. What once began as a carnival marriage game has evolved into a lumberjack custom and is now more alive than ever. . BLOCH Recap 3/3: Since the end of December 2025, Bloch @bloch.global has been back on Swiss soil. It is blocked at the container terminal in Basel until the cost allocation with the transport company is clarified. Their transport invoice is disproportionate: more than eight times the usual transport costs. We now offset this with the damages we incurred. Over one year of delay = the loss of the entire India tour. Very high legal and administrative costs and immaterial and material damages that will only become apparent once we have been able to examine Bloch. Until a solution is found, Bloch is stuck once again. This time only two hours away from its home. First reports have circulated since last week (SRF, TVO, Appenzeller Zeitung, St. Galler Tagblatt). Whether the far travelled Bloch will make it to the next Bloch Monday on 16 February in Urnäsch is unlikely. We would have loved to let the two Blochs meet and sniff each other out. Wie wird ein Alltagsobjekt zum Kulturgut?👕 Die Sammlung des Künstlers und Kreateurs Marcus @Gossolt umfasst rund 150 T-Shirts, jedes getragen von einer eigenen Geschichte: von Design und Ästhetik bis zur kulturellen Bedeutung seiner Zeit. Viele der Stücke hat Gossolt selbst entworfen, für sich gestalten lassen oder über Jahre hinweg zusammengetragen – stets getragen im Alltag. Für ihn ist Sammeln eine Form von Jagd, Ausdauer und ein roter Faden, der sein Leben prägt. Ursprünglich als Teil der männlichen Unterwäsche konzipiert, entwickelte sich das T-Shirt im 20. Jahrhundert zu einem Symbol von Modernität, Mut und Männlichkeit. Matrosen und Soldaten nutzten es im Ersten und Zweiten Weltkrieg als praktisches, vielseitiges Kleidungsstück – ein Wandel, der seine heutige ikonische Stellung begründete. ✨
