There was NOTHING like the full gospel harmonies of the 70s. Scenes from an impromptu gathering of food and fellowship with new and old singing friends @darius_booker_nyc @marcelledavieslashley @trejahhh @chandlarandkarenj @krodbmusic @thee_sheldonray where we burst into @mspattilabelle the late #walterhawkins and the ORIGINAL #goodtimes theme song (written by Dave Grusin. I hear that show has been rebooted. We had a TIME. I’ll always “be grateful” my neighbors are music lovers and don’t mind hearing a joyful noise from time to time! #begrateful #youaremyfriend Happy Sunday yall! Let your hearts sing this spring!

Sang the powerballad “I’ll Miss You Most” from debut album Introducing at the @brooklynmusicschool fundraiser as a dedication to my bro #danieljones, former band member of mine who loved it very much. We performed many times together at @bam_brooklyn which was next door to #brooklynmusicschool. Brought back such memories. Thank you @chrisrobonline (piano) and @bendjiallonce (percussion) for always being on-stage soldiers over the years. RIP to this brilliant pianist-songwriter-producer prodigy who studied in NYC and went on to tour the world. We’ll never forget you in Brooklyn, the borough you often blessed on stage and in rehearsal with your colleagues with your magic, brilliance and joyfulness. #gordonchambers #illmissyoumost Last and not least, thank you @absyte1 for your beautiful posts of this tribute performance.

First time singing for this many people. A sold-out crowd of 68,000! Nothing brings people together like music and sports. My heart went straight to the @seahawks directly in my view who I knew wanted to win this first home game for their city. One had his hands up in prayer rocking from side to side. Congrats team. You did it! Thanks @whitneyhouston for your heavenly inspiration. Langston Hughes wrote “I, too, sing America.” JFK said “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. In this important election countdown, it meant so much to me to sing this anthem in this progressive city in a blue jersey. Thank you again @dinocoent for the opportunity. Grateful to God. To the Most High be all honor and glory. I gave it my all. 🇺🇸❤️ #seattle #seattleseahawks #gordonchambers #luminfield #nationalanthem #vocalcoaching

Wow! Back in NYC just in time last night to attend the @highlinenyc annual spring gala. This room blew me away with its beauty. I love NYC and all its free cultural programming in the summertime especially in the parks. Thank you @as10019 ! #highlinenyc. Thank you Big Apple for never ending new experiences. Happy belated birthday #steviewonder (May 13th) who wrote this beautiful Bside for the late #syreeta on the underrated album “The Secret Life of Plants”!

Almost home! Sights from this beautiful bridge that connects Zimbabwe and Zambia, built by the colonists over “Victoria” Falls (named after the Queen at the time). Beautiful nonetheless. The history is complicated but grateful for another chance to see such utter gorgeous rainbows, sunsets and animals running free in the Motherland. Thank you again birthday twins @reggievanlee_ @jacquifrancis9 for another chance to bond with old and new friends @lydiamallett @jsully2.0 @fabriciotmendes @cfsmgt and many more! Shoutout to the teams of @anthonyrodell and the local teams in #namibia🇳🇦 and #botswana. We had a TIME!

Grateful for a day ill NEVER forget seeing the majestic #victoriafallszimbabwe today. Truly HUMBLING to see how grand God’s earth is and feel the mist that felt like rain from the sky falling. The ancestors used to come here for prayers and worship in pre-colonial days. I truly felt ALL the power and thanked the MOST HIGH for allowing me to see this corner of the world, even by helicopter. Thanks Mike and Brian for keeping me calm! #zambeziriver Thank you @bobmarley for bringing your full band to perform for the independence of #zimbabwe🇿🇼 in 1980 and recording a song in honor of this nation. Everyone we met on this side of the border could NOT have been kinder. There’s no place like home: AFRICA!

It a indescribable to describe how warm I feel inside my soul when I am the continent of my ancestors. We were greeted by traditional dance ritual to this Black-owned hotel like royalty. Today we walked the #kazungulabridge that literally connects four nations: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe. We’ve celebrated with elephants, hippos and monkeys safely sailing the #choberiver which is simply gorgeous. So grateful seeing this corner of the world with @reggievanlee_ and friends. So often you only see on the news the bad news of Africa. Behold the South of the Motherland in its glory and splendor. Thank you @anthonyrodell and local teams for planning! #botswana

Happy 68th birthday #reggievanlee! A friend of his is a friend of mine. Truly grateful for another year to celebrate the birthday of big brother @reggievanlee around the globe. Almost 30 years of this tradition in my life. ❤️🇳🇦 I leaned here that to enter a soirée with a cane is the ultimate sign is respect in the #herero tribe which survived the German genocide of #namibia between 1904-1908. #gordonchambers Only @reggievanlee could summon loved ones to an actual desert to party hearty. This red carpet was laid out to welcome us on the black-owned land of sand dune 7! Powerful indeed knowing that so much of this beautiful country is still owned by the Germans descendants of the cruel colonizers. Thankful to the all-Black staff who took care of us with amazing grace. Beautiful indeed to meet Met opera diva @denycegravesmusics who sang happy birthday and dance joyfully with Bev, Ashley, young Ashton, Jojo, Andrew, Sharon , Jacqui and many others! What a night! #blackexcellence✊🏾 in Africa. God is good!

The waters of the Africa diaspora have SOOOO many stories to tell. When on the continent I often reflect on the privilege it is to return as a FREE man knowing my ancestors left in bondage, and that the colonialism aftermath continues. It’s complicated. Joyful scenes nonetheless at sea today where Namibian dolphins danced as we sailed and glorious pelicans and seals jumped happily aboard BEFORE we got to a huge bay of hundreds who dock on this patch of sand to mate. The natural wonders of Africa include the never-captured animals. What beauty to behold. Thank you #namibia and happy birthday @jacquifrancis ! #namibia
