Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետությունը մոտ է իր գոյությունը դադարեցնելուն։ Ռադիոն հաղորդել է լուրը, հեռվում մուգ ծուխ է երևում, և լսվում է կրակոցների ու պայթյունների շարանի ձայնը։ Լեռներում ծվարած մի փոքրիկ գյուղ արդեն գրեթե լքված է, լսվում է միայն մի քանի շների հաչոցը։ Նախկին զինվորական Արամը մնացել ու փորձում է համոզել իր հաշմանդամ մորը հեռանալ։ Բայց կինը՝ անտարբեր ձևանալով, չի արձագանքում նրա ջանքերին և, կարծես, հաշտվել է ճակատագրի հետ։ Ադրբեջանական բանակը մոտենում է, և Արամը շուտով ստիպված կլինի դժվար որոշում կայացնել։

The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is about to cease to exist. The radio has reported the news, dark smoke can be seen in the distance and a series of shots and explosions can be heard. A small village hidden in the mountains is almost deserted now, only some forsaken dogs can be heard barking. Aram, a former soldier, has stayed behind and he is trying to convince his disabled mother to leave. However, the apathetic woman does not respond to his efforts and seems resigned to her fate. The Azerbaijani army is getting closer and Aram will soon have to make a difficult decision.
