Coming to the US in Feb/March 2027 and to Sweden in August 2027: Saxessential, the saxophone duo of Swedish saxophone artist, Nils Erik Hagström, and American saxophonist, Todd Goranson. Woot! Yesterday was FUN!! I got to spend the day with the reed players at all FIVE instrumental programs in the @bigspringsd (Big Spring MS, Mt. Rock ES, Oak Flat ES, Big Spring HS, Newville ES)! From grades 4-12, the students had AMAZING energy, great questions, and a love and curiosity for music. After seven clinics at five campuses, my voice was tired, but my heart was full.❤️

The reed players at @umasdschools (King of Prussia, PA) were ON today!! I had a great day with the folks at Upper Merion Area High School (Mr. Tim Spangler, director) and with the 7th/8th grade reed players at Upper Merion Area Middle (Mr. David Hodgson, director). We worked on tone, articulation, and voicing, as well as selecting the right STRENGTH reeds (and reed rotation, too).

Well, it was a weird, wild whirlwind whistle-stop in the winter wonderland of TEXAS (to work with music students at UT-Tyler and ETAMU), but I LOVED also having a couple of brief opportunities to grab Texas cuisine with former colleagues, and students. ❤️ Sorry I couldn’t connect with ALL of my loved ones in the Lone Star State, but grateful for the moments that I did.

Pleased to see that my article on preventing and mitigating musculoskeletal injury, as well as other considerations for hearing loss, dystonia, and holistic health, was published in this month’s issue of The Horn Call, the print journal for the @international_horn_society I’m grateful that I was asked to write these articles; it’s truly a blessing to see that organizations and institutions are starting to place emphasis, and expend resources, on these important topics.
