It happened
It was just another day when I received a text from Tripti Thakur from Gautam Kishanchandani’s team. We had enough mutuals and we had met each other at a few parties.
She texted me saying there was an audition happening and they needed someone who was bubbly, funny and quirky. She said that she thought of me (that’s extremely sweet of you trip) and called me for the audition.
I went for the audition and I gave 3 takes. I felt that Tripti and the girl who gave me cues weren’t convinced with my performance, but they said the takes were okay. As soon as I stepped out of their office I called up my best friend and told him
@avi_pokhriyal “I don’t think I will be selected I hadn’t memorised the script well”. All he said was “Giving the audition is also important soo you understand where you lack, and the next time you will be well versed with your script. Aise soch ki tune audition toh diyaa naa”
His words stuck with me. The casting team didn’t text me for few days and there was no response from Tripti either.
One afternoon I was at the BBlunt Academy learning hairdressing & I got a call from Tripti saying that I was selected. I asked her to clarify, shortlisted or selected? Cause actors are called for auditions then they are shortlisted and then selected. She said YOU ARE SELECTED.
I immediately called up my mum and my best friend gave them this news. I was legit jumping when I was telling them about it!!!
As it turns out, it was a part for a Vishal Bharadwaj project. After working with him, all I would say is that
@vishalrbhardwaj is an academy in himself. He puts in all of his heart and soul to make his films and hence they come out to be the masterpieces we know and love. His passion for his craft has given us the most amazing actors, movies and songs.
This journey to getting to his sets and the experience on them, is one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
