Big ups to #chabadofwestminster #chabadnwmetrodenver for having us at their inaugural Jewish Music Festival! Catch us at @getoutside festival on 5/29, @kgnu radio on 6/2 and @boulderjewishfestival 6/7 with Janice Rubin 😎
What a weekend! We are so grateful for our time with @sirfranklondon . While in Denver, Frank hosted a masterclass with the Boulder Klezjammers, taught a workshop on Entrepreneurship at @du_lamont and workshopped @msudenvermusic jazz combos. His visit concluded with co-leading the jam session at Festo Festo with @zoeaqua at Ratio Beerworks Overland and performing his music with us. We’re still riding those great moments, and we’re excited to continue showcasing some of those tunes at the Westminster Jewish Fest later this month. Thank you, Frank!

SPIN LOCAL, LISTEN GLOBAL: I’ll be featuring new music from Miki Saito (Aurora), and Finn OSullivan (Boulder), plus a tasty tune from Denver faves Gora Gora Orkestar tomorrow, Monday, May 4, on the Morning Sound Alternative, on KGNU Community Radio. We’ll also commemorate the Kent State shootings, talk to a member of Cambodian psych-rock band Dengue Fever (and give away tickets to their May 29 show at Meow Wolf), and as always, I’ll spin lots of new music, some old faves, and a few surprises. Tune in KGNU between 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. MDT for all of that. Find KGNU at 88.5 FM: Boulder/ Denver + Denver: 1390 AM, Ft. Collins: 98.7 FM, Nederland: 93.7 FM & KGNU.org & the KGNU APP, and be sure to drop me an email at [email protected] to say “Hi, I’m listening...” @kgnu@finnosullivanmusic@miki.saito@goragoraork@denguefevermusic #listen #localmusic #communityradio #newmusicalert #newmusic

Now the one thing we did right
Was the day we started to fight
Keep Your Eyes on the Prize, Hold on
Hold on, hold on,
Keep Your Eyes on the Prize, Hold on
This song has a long history, originating as an African American Spiritual “Keep Your Hand on the Plow”, adapted during the Southern Freedom Movement into the current lyrics, and still sung today.
The snippet most often sung today was the portion used as the opening theme song for the “Eyes on the Prize” history series on PBS.
February Festo Festo is coming up! Join us for a night of music and dance with @balkanikafolk and @bulgarian_dance_group_gaitani at the JCC in Denver on February 26. Ticket link soon to be available in our bio.
