Today I celebrate 10 years sober. 🙏🏽
There was a time in my life when I didn’t think I would ever be able to say that. A time when things felt dark, heavy, and completely out of control. I hurt people I loved, I hurt myself, and I honestly didn’t know if I was ever going to find my way out.
But somehow, I took a first step. Then another. And then another.
One day at a time turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Months turned into years.
Sobriety didn’t magically fix everything overnight. It took honesty, humility, a lot of hard conversations, and the willingness to face parts of myself I used to run from. There were days I said, Man, fuck this, but I stayed.
And today… it’s 10 years. 😲💪🏽
Ten years of learning how to live again. Ten years of healing, growing, making amends, and becoming someone I can look at in the mirror with honesty and pride.
Recovery didn’t just save my life, it gave me a life I never thought I deserved.
To the people who stood by me, supported me, and believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself… thank you. You know who you are.
And to anyone out there who is struggling right now: please don’t give up. I promise you, change is possible. If I can do this, so can you.
Ten years ago I was just trying to survive.
Today I’m grateful to be alive.

2021! That’s how long my heart has been learning how to carry grief and gratitude at the same time.
Within a span of 5 years, I’ve lost my son and my cousin—two souls who shaped my life in ways words will never fully hold. Some days the ache is loud and heavy, and other days it’s quiet but constant. I still reach for moments I can’t get back. I still wish for one more conversation, one more laugh, one more ordinary day.
You guys have missed some pretty big moments since you've been gone, but we have not forgotten about you and NEVER WILL!
But alongside the sadness, there is thankfulness. Thankful that I knew their love. Thankful for the memories that refuse to fade. Thankful for the way they changed me, taught me, and left pieces of themselves in my heart that time can’t take away.
Grief doesn’t mean forgetting. It means remembering deeply. Loving still. Carrying them forward in how I live, how I love, and how I show up for others.
I miss you both more than I can say. And I’m forever grateful that I got to be loved by you. It's just one of those days for me that I feel it need to express my heart on my page. I love you guys!! 🙏🏽
