If we’re lucky, someone enters our lives early enough to provide an example of the type of human we strive to become. Like many others in Honolulu, Beano was my role model as a musician, father, friend and overall human being. His kindness, creativity, humor, humility, quiet intensity and loyalty shaped me as a young man and still shapes me to this day.
This photo of the two of us at my wedding was always mounted on my workspace wall through multiple homes as inspiration to keep playing music, stay creative and enjoy life.
We will all miss you, Beano. Your spirit lives on through so many who were blessed enough to be part of your life.
Revisiting one of the first songs I tried to learn on guitar during Covid, the wonderful Sina Makosa by Les Wanyika. Added more variation to the parts.
Christiana - Prince Nico Mbarga & Rocafil Jazz
I’m rough around the edges but this was still fun to play.
Special appearance by my sweet little pal, Mochi.
