Did you know that when you donate to Goodwill, Alberta, not only does it make your home more beautiful, but that one decision to donate to Goodwill also gives dignity to people with disabilities. 91 cents of every dollar they earn from selling generously donated goods goes directly to programs that help people with disabilities right here in Edmonton. So when you donate your unwanted items to Goodwill, know that not only is your home more beautiful, but your donations also have a beautiful impact. #reclaiminghomedecorating #reclaiminghome #powerofone #goodwill_ab *This spring I am partnering with Goodwill to get the word out of the good work they are doing in Alberta.

One donation. One purchase. One opportunity. For Melissa, that opportunity means meaningful work, a supportive team, and the chance to keep learning, building new skills, and growing every day. That’s the Power of One. 💙

As Goodwill's across the planet celebrate Goodwill week, we are celebrating here in Alberta the power of ONE. One small act, one donation, one purchase, one opportunity. Thank you to our donors, shoppers, team members and our community for supporting our mission, since 1963. @neezy.a_ @reclaiminghomedecorating @stagedbytara @kayleerosewray @kayleerosewray @lisettexavier

I have been in burnout for a month. It's awful. It's not a new experience for me. And it's really hard to find joy. This dress was made with gritted teeth because I was so tired but it did provide me an outlet of freedom in a world where I felt like I had no control.  🪿 I got this dress doing the "Power of One" @goodwill_ab photo shoot. 🪿 I find myself leaning towards creative endeavors to take some control back. I usually do this by finding secondhand items from the Goodwill bins. The low price tag that is so small makes the option to create something less daunting because I know that I'm saving it from the landfill and anything is going to be an improvement.  🪿 Because this dress was a part of the campaign, I found it a perfect opportunity to add more whimsy. The world feels hard and that's completely understandable. Living in a neurodivergent mind when everything feels so heavy. So I'm grateful for finding an affordable escape that pushes me even when I don't want to move it all. . What does safe escape look like for you?

As we celebrate Goodwill Week, we’re celebrating our donors, the people behind the impact. 💙 Since 1963, generous Albertans have supported our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities or barriers to find meaningful employment. When you donate and shop at Goodwill, you’re making a powerful difference in your community, whether you see it or not. Meet Katie, one of those generous donors (and shoppers too!)

It started with one visit, sourcing items for a wedding. Then came one great find. And suddenly, one small choice turned into a whole new way of shopping. For Tara, choosing secondhand means giving items a second life, reducing waste, and supporting her community, all at the same time. At Goodwill, the power of one purchase can create impact far beyond what’s in your cart. That’s the Power of One. ♻️💙 https://www.goodwill.ab.ca/programs/power-of-one/
