Package up some Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce with me! Using 100% compostable containers from @goodstartpackaging !! These clear containers are made from plants and turn into soil. They also are leak proof!!! I however still manage to spill everytime I package 🫠 This sauce is one of my personal favorites. It is so versatile! Last night we had it on roasted broccoli and rice. It’s International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) and in honor of it we’d like to remind you, after you’ve used your mushrooms, don’t forget to toss your lid and container into your compost area. We aim to use the most sustainable packaging we can, and that’s why we chose @goodstartpackaging The lid and container are both made from biodegradable plant fiber-based material that easily breaks down in a backyard composting environment when mixed with other organic materials. We’ve been using Good Start Packaging since we opened our business in 2023, and each year we build our compost to use for the next year. It works beautifully. Composting is important to us for many reasons. 1. It’s a full circle ⭕️ cycle of using plants to contain plants to then grow more plants. 2. We know what our soil is made up of because we intentionally build it how we want it. Ours is made up of veggie waste, fruit waste, fallen leaves, grass clippings, Good Start Packaging cardboard, egg shells, chicken poo, SMS mushroom waste and Good Start Packaging containers. 3. We have less trash and refuse to pay for a “green bin” because we use what would go in a green bin for compost. 4. Overall we spend less money on purchasing soil and amendments, while feeling good about doing our part. You don’t need a fancy compost bin design.
