What’s better than stadium truck racing at the Mickey Thompson stadium off-road series? How about the ultra stock class running during this series?! In 1985 Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group introduced a new class “Ultra Stock”. This class was simple, two wheel drive only cars/suv and it needed to resemble a production car built for racing short course. The idea was to bring fans in to see sports cars they might see on the road, racing in a stadium. It was also appealing to the manufacturers and assisted in bringing additional money to the sport. This was a wild class and the vehicles were out of this world, you’d see anything from a Pontiac fiero to Chevy corvette to Volkswagen Golf to Porsche 911. In the later years more SUV’s were introduced in the class such as the Toyota 4runner, Jeep Cherokee, ford explorer and more. These would eventually take over the class.

You never know what you’ll find going through old cameras and film rolls. Those home videos left in a camera from the 1960s / 1970s might give you a glimpse into what life was like back then. For us we’re always on the hunt for old photos and videos of motorsports culture from these time periods. Be careful though, you may come across some home videos that you weren’t meant to see 😂

Shirley “Cha Cha” Muldowney is not only the most influential woman in drag racing but a true legend in the motorsports world. Cha Cha paved the way for women in motorsports and showed the world that a woman could be a top competitor in a male dominated sport. Shirley was the first women to receive a license from the National Hot Rod Association to pilot a Top Fuel Dragster. She took the top fuel world by storm winning championships in 1977, 1980 and 1982 which made her the first person to ever win 3 top fuel titles! We could go on and on about the legend that Shirley is, her name and story is one the whole world should know.

I don’t usually show my face (or much about me) on here, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to share a little more of what I do.
I’ve always been a creative person and somehow turned that into a career as a graphic designer / art director… but the real creativity for me happens in the garage. I’ve been riding dirt bikes since I was 2 and racing since I was 3, so motorcycles have basically been part of my DNA. They’ve taken me everywhere—from traveling around the world, to meeting incredible people, to building bikes for shows, to throwing my own events.
Over the years I’ve found a way to mesh the creative side with my motorcycle addiction, which led to a lot of custom builds, restorations, and everything in between. That’s honestly where Good Ole Days came from… just passion + years of messing with vintage bikes and learning as I go.

Wild times @fuelcleveland a few years back. The man, the myth, the legend @jprodmanpaintworks brought the New Mexico vibes to Ohio with his custom 1969 air ride VW Trike. This thing was a head turner and the moment JP hopped in it you knew that front wheel was coming off the ground 🤘
