Do you thank your bus driver? 🚌 To mark Thank You Day, our very own Mick Handy - Elite driver training instructor by day, radio presenter by night - hit the streets of Newcastle to find out if Geordies really are the UK’s friendliest! He asked one simple question: “Do you thank your bus driver?” The answers might surprise you! 👀 A little kindness goes a long way - saying thanks as you hop off the bus can truly make a driver’s day! 💛 #ThankYouDay #GoNorthEast #newcastleupontyne #newcastle #cannygnedriver #toon

Mental Health Awareness Week💙 This week we took our Chatty Bus to Dalton Park. Carly and Mick, two of our Chatty Bus ambassadors, were on hand to chat to shoppers over tea and cake🍰 🫖 Carly and Mick are both trained Mental Health First Aiders who support their GNE colleagues who need someone to chat to about their wellbeing - this week they both really enjoyed being out in the community supporting our passengers too!

Last week, we celebrated our colleagues at our Long Service Awards at The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle. We congratulated those who have been part of the Go North East team for 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and even 45 years!✨️ It was a great hear their stories from over the years, which included rescuing ferrets mid-shift, children following in their footsteps to become GNE bus drivers, Christmas sing-alongs onboard and a passenger's baby named after one of our drivers. Thank you all for your incredible service and for dedicating so many years to keeping the North East moving from the driver's seat or behind the scenes in our offices and engineering workshops.
