Our Gold Leaf family received tragic news on Saturday morning. Carlos Garcia, a beloved former employee, perished in an unimaginable accident while driving his usual overnight truck route. He was just 32 years old.
Carlos worked with us from 2011- 2017. Many of you may remember him from our trade shows. His generosity and humor made a huge impression on everyone he met. This devastating loss hits the Gold Leaf Family hard; his wife Miriam and Uncle Robert are vital members of our company. In fact, it is Carlos who introduced us to Miriam 12 years ago. As a small company, we are all family and this has shaken us to our core.
Together, Carlos and Miriam have two young children: Lorenzo, age 5, and Camila, just 9 months old. They are loving and committed parents who have worked hard to create a beautiful future for their family. Their journey was just beginning. Carlos was a shining light and inspiration to everyone he met.
Miriam and Carlos were off to a strong start. Nothing can replace him, but we ask for the help of our broader community to ensure that the path they worked so hard to build continues. Please consider helping this young family and help us honor Carlos’s legacy and support them during this incredibly difficult time.
