Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife
Learn how you can keep your cat safe at home while also caring for local wildlife this May.
The Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife campaign aims to educate cat owners with the know-how to provide their cat with the longest and happiest life possible by keeping them safe and enriched at home – keeping both cats and wildlife safe.
Public Libraries Victoria is proud to partner with Zoos Victoria and RSPCA Victoria to support this great campaign. Pop into your local library throughout May for some resources and great ideas on how you and your family can keep your cat safe and entertained inside and prevent them from harming our precious native wildlife.

We are greatly saddened by the loss of our friend and supporter, @Lorraine Marwood - Australian poet and children's author . A wise, warm and wonderful writer who we cherished.
A poet, children’s author and educator of national significance, Lorraine was also a loved part of the central Victorian writing community, and a founding member of the Bendigo Writers Council.
Lorraine authored 17 books for children, including the Prime Minister’s Literary Award-winning ‘Star Jumps’, the NSW Premier’s Literary Award-winning ‘Leave Taking’, and the CBCA Notable Book ‘Footprints on the Moon’.
Her deep love of family, her farming past, and the central Victorian landscape loom large in her stories. As do her messages of hope, love and kindness. We will continue to forever champion her work.
We extend our condolences to Lorraine’s family and friends.
“I jump to see drought writhe
and toss like a willy-willy around the hay wisps,
around the cows yet to calve.
And I jump again.”
