🏆 South Deep hits a major milestone
Gold Fields’ South Deep Gold Mine is now ISO 55001 certified — the first Gold Fields operation globally and one of the first mines in South Africa to achieve this standard.
This milestone reflects South Deep’s transformation into a modern, mechanised and performance‑driven operation, driven by strong governance, disciplined execution and exceptional collaboration across teams.

Our Assets series: Let´s continue with our Australian operations.
Today we’re spotlighting Gruyere and Granny Smith, two of our key operations in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.
Â
Gruyere – a large‑scale open‑pit mine, contributing to our production since its first gold pour in 2019. Last year, Gold Fields consolidated ownership of Gruyere through the acquisition of Gold Road Resources, providing access to additional exploration upside and supporting our long-term growth ambitions.

Granny Smith – with a history of more than 30 years of gold production, it is now evolving as a significant underground operation, supported by a strong track record of exploration success.

This week, we marked an important milestone at Granny Smith with the signing of a Native Title Agreement between Gold Fields and the Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation (WTAC), on behalf of the Nyalpa Pirniku people.
The agreement reflects years of meaningful engagement and a shared commitment to creating long‑term opportunities for future generations.
It focuses on employment, training and contracting opportunities, alongside commitments to protect land and waters in ways that are environmentally and culturally aligned with WTAC’s objectives.

In Our Assets series today: Australian operations.
Australia is home to four of our mines, a cornerstone of our global portfolio. Today, we’re spotlighting Agnew and St Ives, located in Western Australia’s goldfields region.
With a mining history spanning more than a century, both operations have evolved into modern underground operations, with St Ives also operating open pit mining. Agnew was the first mine in our portfolio to implement wind energy, and later this year, St Ives will commission a renewable energy project expected to supply around 73% of its power from wind and solar — the largest renewable project in our portfolio to date.
Supported by a strong pipeline of projects, our Australian operations are securing future reserves and continuing to create enduring value beyond mining.

Gold Fields announced an investment pledge at the Sixth South Africa Investment Conference (SAIC 2026), reaffirming its long‑term commitment to the country.
The R1.714 bn investment for 2026–2027 will support the South Deep Expansion Project, with a focus on infrastructure, access to new mining areas and expanded renewable energy capacity.
More than 70% of the investment will go to local businesses, supporting jobs and economic activity in surrounding communities.
With deep roots in South Africa, we remain committed to long‑term, sustainable value creation beyond mining.
