I am beyond excited to share that I will be in the upcoming book FOR THE CULTURE: PHENOMENAL BLACK WOMEN AND FEMMES IN FOOD, a book filled with interviews, recipes and essays celebrating Black women and femmes and our contributions to hospitality.
@klancycooks is such a gem and I am honored to be in this book alongside this group of dynamic women and femmes, many of whom have been a huge inspiration for me throughout my career.
You can pre-order the book through BEM books & more, a Black women-owned bookstore in Brooklyn. Pre-orders show publishers that a book, author and subject matter are of interest, so supporting a book with a pre-order is really helpful and affirming. See the link in my story to purchase! For the Culture comes out in just TEN DAYS, September 19 so be sure to pre-order before then!
The astrology says that we Scorpios are having a moment of rebirth and I feel it. I can feel myself not quite changing but becoming more of myself, louder about who I am and what that means.
The concept of being a witness in life has come up in a few conversations recently and what I haven’t considered until writing this caption is how special it is to be a witness to my OWN growth and I’m gonna stop there because I’m being vulnerable when I really just came here to show y’all how cute I am. 🤭✨
In order of appearance: me being fine in the park, the cutest lineup I’ve ever curated, “ass getting thiquer, cash getting thiquer”, a very mid photo of the most amazing meal aka baby’s first dinner party, me being fine in a different park, self explanatory, FACE, shedding weight, Brooklyn can be cute, a message from my dear friend and a sign that I’m evolving because I agree!
Save the date!

I’ll be selecting pours by Black, Queer, and/or Femme producers. It wasn’t too long ago that making a list like this was impossible, let’s get into it. ✨
I’m moving on!
This was my last month at ZRS and it feels a bit surreal, like just yesterday I was packing my things up to come work here (and in the middle of the pandemic no less!) But just like that 2 years and some change have flown by. I’ve got so much to say about my experience but I think I’ll save it for my memoir and keep it simple - I am ever grateful for any opportunity that helps me to grow into a new version of myself and working for this company has surely pushed and stretched me for the better. And at this point I can truly say I know this food/beverage business inside and out.
My next steps aren’t figured out quite yet, I’m welcoming leads for any aligned opportunities. I’m looking forward to doing more work through my consultancy, @that.goodgood , traveling, and educating folks on what’s in their glass. Holler at me! ✌🏾💋
Eros was such a vibe.
Everyone looked great, the wine was great, the snacks were great, we laughed, we got a little deep, we loved on each other and ourselves.
We talked about the wine but the conversation also flowed into the inherent sensuality of wine, its relationship to our sacral, astrology, and biodynamics.
I’m so grateful to everyone who came out. It was a special and intimate group I’m really excited to continue exploring wine in this context.
And thank you for these photos Carlisa!! (@lisa.monart ) 🥰
Now who’s coming to the next one? 👀✨
This is for the lovers and the friends, a wine fueled exploration of the senses. Together we’ll tap into our tastebuds using wine as a tool to connect more deeply with our bodies.
This is not your average V day affair. We acknowledge that self love is the best love but this is also perfect for the folks who might have a new connection and don’t want to do toooo much and still catch a vibe.
Your ticket includes half pours of 6 wines along with a perfectly paired personal cheeseboard and fun interactive conversation.
