This is my review I left on yelp for Self Chef in Castle Shannon. If you’re thinking of going.
First, let’s start by saying that there have been a lot of mixed reviews about the new restaurant in Castle Shannon, Self Chef. I thought I would share my experience. I never finish my sushi yet, the sushi was so fresh. I ate every bite and that says a lot, which was also detrimental to the bottomless bowl. I ordered. Important, if you were going to order sushi or an appetizer do not get the bottomless bowl. It also comes with a salad, which I could not pass up. My lunch mate, however, took advantage of the bottomless bowl and between the two of us. We tried nearly every Sauce. If you do not like your bottomless bowl, blame no one but yourself. You pick the ingredients the seasoning, the sauce. All they do is cook it. Self chef. If it tastes bad, it’s on you not them. Now if the appetizers, or sushi is bad then it’s on them. The service was excellent, the server was attentive and so was everyone else. If you plan to go, when you go to the build your bowl, there are seasonings there. Do not put more than you would like because they just toss them in. My first round was very salty. That’s when I realized they just cook it. Lots of protein to choose from and veggies. The next time I go, I think I’m just going to opt for the sushi and appetizers. The bowl is just too much. Important tip, weekends. There’s no lunch prices and it’s clearly stated on the menu. And if you get the bottomless bowl, there is no takeout containers. I wouldn’t recommend it. I included some pictures, including one of a crazy lady trying to use
All rvis for a sandwhich. I’ve heard of pulled pork but not pulled ham. So I had to see if it really worked. It was easy and delicious. Downside is it takes 7 hours to cook and there’s way too much. I will be delivering leftovers today
