Als de man achter 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦 en een pionier van shock rock en progressieve rock hoor en zie je hier de blauwdruk van artiesten als Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Kiss en David Bowie. Brown werkte en deelde podia met namen als Jimi Hendrix, The Who en Frank Zappa, en zijn invloed sijpelt nog altijd door in de hardere en meer theatrale kant van rock en metal. Verwacht een bezwerende liveshow waarin zijn kenmerkende stem, onvoorspelbare performance en visuele flair samenkomen tot iets dat net zo goed cult als compromisloos is.

Last night I went to Neuadd Ogwen, Bethesda to see The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, the one and only God of Hellfire.

One of the best rock concerts I’ve ever been to. It was much more than a concert. It was a multi media experience.

The lights, stage design, the costumes, Arthur’s stage presence, his amazing voice, the talented musicians in the band (superb drummer and bassist and excellent lead guitarist / keyboard player) & the music all combined to produce a really special night.

He performed the iconic ‘Fire’ with the flaming helmet on his head, just as he had on Top of the Pops in 1968!!

This is the guy who wrote the template for Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Kiss & many more.

Arthur Brown is synonymous with his 1968 hit “Fire” and the Hammond-driven “Crazy World” line-up which spawned it. However, his ‘God of Hellfire’ burned out fast and, in 1970, he returned with a new project: the prog-festival freak-show Kingdom Come followed by a varied solo career. Those initial four band albums, by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and by Kingdom Come are thrilling, as tend to be Brown’s cameos on other peoples’ projects.
