New GOD CULT album " curse the witness, damn the tyrant" just dropped and these boys go hard. The perfect medium between a hardcore sound and deathcore heaviness. The two bands that keep popping into my head that I can compare them to is Iron Gate (NH) and at times Liferuiner. Great selection of samples used. Fav track is "Bare Knuckle Honor". Solid A @godcvlt New ATREYU album "The end is not the end" answers the question " what if Five Finger Death Punch only got divorced, but still got to keep the kids?" Because god damn this is just 40 yr old Emo kid with a tribal tattoo and corvette type shit. I will give them this, it's the best they've done in like 10 years. I could see myself liking this if they got rid of the clean vocals but most of what i loved about them is gone and this was disappointing. New England hardcore band WISE CHOICE just drop their debut EP and I must say, I have never felt this energized by a straight up hardcore release in a long time. The perfect amount of rawness, aggression, riffs and hard ass lyrics. The intro is a great introduction to their sound, I think First To Run may be my fav hardcore track This year. Easy A+ from me @wisechoice_hc Doom / Deathmetal band PAGANIST from Costa Rica just drop their newest album "Void Dominion" and while straight up , death metal is usually outside of my wheelhouse , I was thoroughly impressed by this. The ambience of doom metal , the insane riffing of deathmetal, masterful drumming and a great vocal performance reminiscent of bands like The Black Dahlia Murder and Skeletonwitch. I deff became a fan. Also an A @paganist.official Australian Post Hardcore band THE AMITY AFFLICTION put out their newest album "House Of Cards" and surprisingly this is so full of hits. I haven't really enjoyed anything from then in like 15 years but I guess kicking someone and and regrouping really helped. Choruses were great, breakdowns were hard and the occasional electronic inserts were a nice touch. Wish it was a little heavier though but very good. Solid B @theamityaffliction
