BRONCO BILLY RETURNS All-time legend, @gobroncobilly returns to the podcast for another amazing episode. Jeff Browning should need no introduction — he’s one of history’s most successful ultrarunners, especially at the 100-mile distance where he’s accumulated 30 career wins. At 54 years old, Jeff has also become the personification of longevity, maintaining an extremely consistent track record throughout his 26 year history in the sport. Entering the 2026 season, Jeff is also beginning a new partnership with @keen as he targets Cocodona, Western States, and TDS as his main competitive objectives. Topics: — Jeff’s new partnership with Keen — Maintaining hunger and motivation to perform as we age athletically — Jeff’s undying love of the process — Performance as an emergent quality of biological health — Why the Colorado Trail left a toll on his body and mind — Jeff’s upcoming racing season, including Cocodona, Western States, and TDS — Thoughts on the modern age of trail running — The evolution of his coaching business — A lot more! Find the episode wherever you listen to podcasts or on the Freetrail YouTube channel. ** Correction: David Horton was the first ever Hardrock winner and the second ever Barkley finisher**

At mile 237 of @cocodona250 I had Freddie King’s “Going Down” playing in my head. As I was telling the story to @acebrownrunning I realized in my post-race stupor that I said “Tore Down” instead of “Going Down” — but no matter, y’all get the point! 😂🤷🏼‍♂️ Video by @acebrownrunning 🤙🏼

#FlashbackFriday Last week, the legendary @gobroncobilly took on the Cocodona 250 and battled his way to an 11th-place finish in 70:56:04. The race threw him a major challenge when edema set in around 40 miles prior to Fort Tuthill County Park (mile 211), causing significant swelling and rapid weight gain. It wasn’t the day he had envisioned, but he dug deep, kept moving, and refused to let it end his race. That kind of toughness can’t be taught. It’s earned over years of showing up, pushing through setbacks, and finding a way forward when things get hard. An incredible performance from one of the toughest athletes in the sport, SNB Pro Jeff Browning. 👏🔥 Amazing! 📸 @wessalonen @clippedinmedia

@cocodona250 Fort Tuthill aid station, mile 211. My race was pretty solid and close to my goal pace until about 40 miles prior. It was starting to unravel by Tuthill. I was fighting major edema issues — fluid leaking into tissue and causing weight gain and major swelling (think wearing a weight vest) — something I fought on the Colorado Trail FKT in ‘24. From here things just got worse and I ended up hiking a majority of the final 50K. When I come up short of a goal I force myself to sleuth out the “why did this happen” question that plagues the mind. The edema issue has brought to light some interesting research that has to do with maintaining oncotic pressure in the capillary system in the presence of muscle breakdown. The theory: Keeping a small IV drip of BCAAs and low-dose bio-available protein circulating in the bloodstream to act as a metabolic sponge to pull fluid back into the bloodstream. 🧐 Wow, the body is fascinating! 🤓 Onward and upward.🔥Western States in 6 weeks. 😳😁

Behind the scenes. Volunteers are the unsung heroes of @cocodona250 — early morning on day 3, resupplying at Kelly Canyon aid station and a little assist from a volunteer. 👖🤌🏼🔥

@cocodona250 2026 — this one will take a moment to absorb. What a ride. Sometimes things go smoothly, and sometimes not so much. Here are a few images from the past week with an amazing film crew! It was a wonder to watch them work. Giddyup boys!🔥🤌🏼
